Tanya Man Yan graduated from the University of Port Elizabeth with a post graduate Honours Degree in Journalism and Media Studies. Other studies include completing the Management Advancement Programme at Wits Business School, a National Diploma in Public Relations Management and obtaining an international certificate in Direct Marketing.
Current Work Description:
Tanya is a Retail Campaign Manager at Barclays. Her key responsibilities include assisting in the development and implementation of marketing plans and campaigns for nine countries across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean.
Working closely with in-country marketing managers, she ensures quarterly campaigns are aligned with the pan-African strategy and global brand guidelines, while adapted to the local culture and environment.
Due to a job transfer to Dubai, Tanya is soon to take on the role as Corporate Affairs Manager. Her portfolio will be extended to include the Middle East and India.

Tanya has broad work experience across the disciplines of marketing, advertising and communications. Her ability to organise, as well as communicate and manage relationships in order to achieve common goals is her strength.
Her background includes working in local government, the manufacturing industry, and in leading global advertising agencies and financial institutions. She provides advice and shares best practices to support her colleagues in countries across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean. Tanya has also worked as a freelance journalist.

Tanya has traveled extensively across the world, and enjoys the exposure to other cultures, people and environments.
