Kershini Govender graduated from the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg with a BComm in 1996. Her majors include Business Finance, Business Logistics and Purchasing, Economics and Business Administration. In 2004 she completed the Senior Leadership Development Programme through the University of Witwatersrand.

Current Work Description:

Kershini is a Senior Manager in Group Strategy at Nedbank Limited. Her responsibilities include the development of an overall Group Strategy for Nedbank through co-creation with the Group Executive, ongoing competitor & environmental scanning(micro and macro, political, social, technological, legal and regulatory trends), company analysis to ensure a dynamic and competitive strategy, ensuring alignment of divisional strategies to Group strategy and assist divisions in crafting their respective strategies, ensuring congruence between bank strategy, brand positioning and group-wide values, designing and facilitating the annual 3-year strategic planning and business planning process across the entire Group, designing content on adhoc group-wide special projects and managing of the Black Business Partner’s relationships and performance contracts. She is also the Employment Equity Manager for her business cluster. Kershini previously worked at Promat and the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa.

Kershini has expertise and experience in the realm of strategic planning and development and business analysis. She utilizes this successfully to develop the strategic direction and business goals of Nedbank through syndication with key stakeholders. She also provides support to the business clusters with development of their business plans and specialist expertise in certain areas. She has excellent people and communication skills which are used to successfully manage the relationship with the Black Business Partners(BBPs). She is innovative, feminine and competent.
