Else Lumka completed her final exam (3rd year) on her MBA through Henley Management College during December 2006 with only her dissertation outstanding. Her aim is to graduate in October 2008. Some of her post graduate studies include the “Global Executive Development Programme “through GIBS Business School (2000) and “Women Leading Business“ with Harvard Business School (2003). She has also attended various work-related management courses

Current Work Description:

Else is a member of the executive team and her reporting line is directly into the MD: Branch Networks in Retail Banking. Some of her crucial functions include setting the sales direction for her unit and to ensure that they achieve all sales KVI’s. She is key to ensure there is alignment with all primary stakeholders and Monolines. The branch channel is key for the execution of sales and service deliverables. Retail Banking at large is dependant upon this channel. She also interacts with various divisions across the bank to ensure prioritizing of new initiatives and that sales staff are competent and adhere to all legislative and operational effectiveness requirements.

Business Credentials and Skills:

Elsie participates in social responsibility programmes within her community where she contributes to focus groups for young talent and is actively involved in sharing leadership skills training within her church community. She acts as a mentor for junior staff (women) in general and has an active interest in ensuring that the pipeline of up and coming young leaders is developed. Her passion is to work and influence for best results. She enjoys the corporate world for now.

Personal Information:

Elsie enjoys reading and her hobbies include working in her herb garden as it gives her much quiet time. She has three beautiful children: Leander, Christopher-John and Duwayne.
