Internal Quality Audits for Accredited Providers
We are initiating a new internal audit system and process. Our new monitoring and auditing schedule will take place over a period of four years, after which you will be re-accredited. Click here to view the BANKSETA monitoring and evaluation policy.
The system for 2009 will work as follows:

  • Due to the amount of work required and the time frames, we have created an interim internal audit checklist that will only be used for the rest of this year. There are two checklists, one for desktop review (click here to view), which includes the documents you have to submit for desktop review and one for the actual site visit (click here to view), which includes the elements that will be reviewed on site by an ETQA specialist.
  • If you were accredited between July and December, you will have to submit the attached checklists for 2009.
  • If you were accredited between January and June, you will not need to do an internal audit for this year, but will start the new year with the final internal audit system as described above.

We are working towards a more comprehensive system for 2010:

  • In your first year after accreditation, in the month you were accredited, you will be audited on the implementation of your quality management system, Learning and Development infrastructure, policies, procedures and review procedures.
  • In the second year, you will focus on learning programmes and alignment of programmes, learning and learner administration, and learning design and delivery.
  • In the third year, the focus will be on assessment and moderation practices, the administration of assessment and moderation and ETD staff responsible for assessment and moderation.
  • In the fourth year, you will do a full verification audit. All previous areas will be reviewed to ensure full compliance.
  • After this has been successfully completed, your schedule is complete and re-accreditation is done. The cycle will then start over again in the next year.
  • For each year, certain documents will have to be submitted and the rest will be checked during the site visit.
